St Augustines Parish Centre facilities are available to hire to you for your event. Whichever part of the facility you’re interested in there is ample parking and we’re set in a pleasant garden surrounded by mature trees. Most importantly for us, you’ll also find a warm welcome when you get here.
The question we’re most often asked is ‘how many can the Main Hall accommodate?’ and the answer is ‘it depends’.
What we mean is it depends how you set the room up, if you want all of our tables out with their chairs (they’re round and seat 10) you can probably get 100 people in, though there wouldn’t be much room to dance.
If you’d rather get all the seats out ‘theatre style’ then we can sit around 150 comfortably. But as a general rule, about 70 in the hall at tables, with another 20 or so enjoying the Bar leaves plenty of room to move and mingle.

Large Main Hall
The Main Hall has just been through an extensive refurbishment and is the one we use for our own functions such as dances or quizzes. It’s also the one that we most often rent out and our typical bookings are for family christenings or birthday parties, though what you might want to use it for is up to you !
Our sprung floor is great for dancing on and if you’re bringing a DJ or a band with you we have a small stage with the appropriate stage lights setup ready and waiting. In addition we’ve recently upgraded the sound system to integrate TV and other inputs so you can run your Powerpoint presentations, watch a video or even just put Coronation Street on if that’s what you want.
Main Hall Hire comes with access to our well appointed kitchen included, so you can make tea or coffee or get caterers in to do a hot buffet if you like.
Bar & Lounge
Opening right onto the Main Hall (or closed away if you’d prefer) is our stylish and friendly Bar. For a small extra fee per hour we can open this for you and your guests. We have a good range of bottled and draught beers, still and fizzy wines, plus the usual spirits. But if you want something particular for your event just ask, we can probably get it in. If you only have a few people coming to your event and would like to sit somewhere little more plush and comfortable, we will of course rent you the Bar itself without requiring use of the Main Hall.
The bar also has a smart new AV system like the main hall, allowing for TV, presentations and music and much more within the bar area itself, so if you require that just ask and we can give you more information.
Kitchen Facilities
Located between the main hall and lounge area, we have our brand new kitchen. The space includes everything you would need, Double ovens, hot water boiler, microwave, hob, double sink and washing facilities and a huge amount of worktop for preparation. The centre island includes power points.
The electric shutters can open to allow serving into the main hall, the lounge area or both.
Youth Hall
As well as the Main Hall we’re lucky to have another room that we know as the Youth Hall. This is an older and more basic building with a small room for serving tea, coffee and microwaved food. It is typically used for things like Scout or Guide meetings but it has been hired out for events like childrens parties, prayer groups, or choir practice. Sometimes we decorate it ourselves and turn it into a Tea Room when we have big open day events . If you have an idea for something you’d like to use it for just ask, we’ll listen.
