With many thanks to all those who came along to our Friday night openings last autumn, and for providing us with feedback.
We’ve looked at all of that and it seems the demand is more diverse than we thought. We are trialing over the next few months, ‘Family Nights’ where all ages will be catered for, and Over 18′ nights, exclusively for the adults.
They are as follows:
Friday 1st Feb – Over 18
Friday 8th March – Family
Friday 5th April – Over 18
Friday 3rd May – Family
Why not arrange a relaxed night out with the family/friends and use the facilities we have….TV, order a takeaway, bring snacks, or we can open the hall (if free) and run a video on the big screen for the kids/ put tables out with games etc (just let us know so we can set it up). Or just sit and have a natter with friends.
If you have any special requests or ideas we will be happy to hear them. (Cocktails anyone?) We will report back in June on it’s success. Over to you…Contact: staugspc@gmail.com
Val Guest, who led the Spring Flowers Workshop in March, will be leading a Christmas Swag workshops on Saturday 24th November in the Parish Centre. There will be a morning (11am-1.30pm) and afternoon workshops (3pm-5.30pm). All materials will be provided for participants to make and decorate their own swag (garland). The swags will make a great addition to your Christmas decorations for your home and will last till Christmas, they can also be made into a wreath for your door. Festive refreshments will also be provided.
Tickets are £23 and will be available in the Parish Centre after 9.15 mass from Sunday 7th October from Marie Newbould
All profits will go to Sunday Stop who provide a hot meal for people in need in the Parish Centre on the first Sunday of the month.
Hello, we had a lovely time at the Parish Centre quiz in July and when it was finished I put my laptop down and thought “I’ve got ages to write the next one”. But I looked at the calendar the other day and found I’ve only got a fortnight left. Eek!
Don’t worry, there will be a quiz on the 12th Oct, 8pm, £1 to play. Come along and see how I’ve got on…
Following a request, Directors have reviewed Friday night opening, and decided to open the bar for one Friday night per month, to see how it goes. Our Bar Team will monitor usage and report back to the Directors in December.
Opening times are 7.30 – 11pm on the following dates:
September 21
October 5
November 9
December 7
Remember, the Parish Centre belongs to us all, and ideas for use are many and varied. These will be ‘Parish’ evenings, so why not bring the family and friends down one Friday night – order a pizza in (or cook it yourselves?) and hook up the TV (lounge or hall) for the kids? Or drag out a game of Trivial Pursuit/Dominoes/Cards for a nice family games night out? (Its out, but not out, out!) It’s up to you of course….

We will have a good selection of gins for you to try and to help us navigate the gin minefield, we have on hand a local expert who will also regale us with the Gin story and how to tell a good one!
All welcome – There are light snacks available.
